February 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Samsung 3D They’ve been seen at trade shows for years, but Samsung is the first company to put a 3D plasma screen on general sale. Produced in partnership with games giant Electronic Arts, the Korean innovator’s new PAVV Cannes TV allows users to view specially-made 3D PC games and movie content via proprietary eyeglasses.
The set will be available in both 42inch and 50 inch sizes and will sell for 1.75 million won and 2.5 million won respectively.
Of course, both can be used as a standard 2D display. The company claims that the new TV delivers superior black levels through a proprietary Cell Light Control technology. Contrast is quoted at one million to one. There’s no news yet of plans to introduce a 3D range outside of South Korea.
