Sony is to sell its iconic Berlin HQ. The Corporation says it will sell all its shares in Sony Berlin GmbH, better known as The Sony Center am Potsdamer Platz. In addition to housing Sony’s European operation, the center is also a popular entertainment venue, offering cinemas and restaurants, which attracts around eight million visitors a year. The site will be bought by Morgan Stanley and investors Corpus Sireo and The John Buck Company, with the deal expected to be completed by the end of March.
Sony itself though is not moving. Sony Europe, Sony Pictures and Sony Music will continue to use the building as their European base.
