Samsung scraps European launch of Duo HD player

March 12th, 2008 · No Comments

Samsung will not introduce a dual format Blu-ray HD DVD player into Europe after all. Brand spokesman Steve Mitchell has confirmed that plans to ship the Duo HD player into the UK this Summer have been scrapped, “because of the changing nature of the HD disc market.” Samsung recently confirmed a similar decision for the US. Instead the company will look to introduce a Profile 2.0 BD Live player into its range later in the year. The Profile 1.1 BD1500 is expected by May.
