According to DivX Inc, three Blu-ray manufacturers have signed up to offer playback compatibility with the codec on their hardware. First out of the gate is Panasonic, with its DivX-capable DMP-BD30. It will be followed by models from Philips and Denon. DivX CEO Kevin Hell, says: “Blu-ray technology clearly represents an important standard for the future of digital media, and we’re pleased that our partners continue to recognize DivX technology as an important feature on next-generation devices.”
