Toshiba underestimates cost of HD DVD exit

March 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Toshiba fears it could find a 100 billion yen hole in its finances, when it publishes its year-end report at the end of March, due to its early exit from the HD DVD business. Originally it was thought that the move would cost the company half that amount. Toshiba admits it’s still trying to evaluate the cost of its decision.
“When we have determined if a revision to our earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March is necessary we will release it as soon as possible,” said the company in a statement.
