Could Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie be the right feline to reboot the Catwoman franchise? Iconic former cat-lady Julie Newmar, in an interview with The New York Daily Post, says that she’s heard on the grapevine that Jolie has been purring about the possibility to donning Selena Kyle’s super-snug catsuit.
“My industry friends tell me she has made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love. She’s tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess.”
The 74-year-old proclaims that “Angelina would own the part.”
In addition to Newmar, the sheline has been played by Eartha Kitt and Lee Meriweather in the Sixties TV show and Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton’s second bigscreen outing in Gotham. Halle Berry’s attempt was put down by a Gotham vet some time ago and doesn’t count. Jolie is pictured above. In the middle. Apparently Shark Tale was a movie.
