The world has been crying out for a unicycle-riding robot, and now Japanese maker Murata Manufacturing Company has obliged. The boffins at Murata clearly have a thing for robots on wheels, having previously engineered a bycling ‘bot called Murata Boy (pictured below).
The company describes its new model (right) as a female cousin of the former model. She goes forwards and backwards, and doesn’t topple over when she stops.
The fembot, who weighs just 5 kilograms and stands 50 centimeters tall, will make her public debut at the CEATEC tech exhibition, which opens at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe on September 30.
