Sony to double LCD TV output for Europe

Sony plans to double the annual production capacity of its LCD TV factory in Slovakia, making it the largest producer of LCD TVs worldwide. Samsung promises massive investment spend

The Samsung Group intends to bounce back from the tax evasion and corruption investigations which have dogged it for months with its biggest-ever investment plan. During 2008, it says investment will rise 24 per cent, to 27.8 trillion won. Beneficiaries include Samsung Electronics, which will receive 5.3 trillion won. Shares rose on the news.
