Video projection specialist Sim2 backs LCD

DLP video projection specialist Sim2 is moving into the LCD screen market. The company has confirmed that it hopes to release a high-end 46-inch LCD TV late 2008. The display will employ proprietary LED dimming technology created by Dolby Laboratories. It’s possible that a prototype will make its debut at the January CES.

Optoma unveils budget 1080p DLP projector

The price of 1080p projection continues to fall. Big-screen specialist Optoma has announced a new budget-priced 1080p DLP projector. The HD80 (pictured), which utilises Texas Instruments’ 0.95-inch 1920×1080 Dark Chip2 and Brilliant Color chip technology, is will retail for just 1,995 pounds when it launches this summer.

Optoma introduces flagship 1080p projector
