IFA , Berlin - Sharp has announced a range of Full HD 1080p LCD TVs, from 37 inches to 52-inches, which will go on sale from this October. A 1080p 42-inch Aquos is expected to sell for around 2,000 UK pounds. To see the video report posted by the Techdigest team, click here.

IFA , Berlin - With sales expected to reach one million sets around the world by the end of the year, Philips’ Ambilight technology received a big push at the German trade show. Ambilight backlighting adds a new dimension to the TV viewing experience by projecting background lighting from the rear of the TV onto the wall behind the set. The result is a perfect blending of the TV into the living room decor, with an improvement in the perceived picture quality in terms of contrast, colors and detail. (more…)

Berlin, 3 August 2006 – Once again the IFA 2006 will be synonymous with outstanding products and solutions in the field of high definition technology. The slogan in Hall 26 is “TV in new dimensions“, referring to a theme of overwhelming importance for the industry, high definition (HD), which provides viewers with pictures of unprecedented quality and opens up a vast commercial potential for the industry.
High definition television was already one of the most fascinating topics at the IFA 2005, where exhibitors and visitors were able to witness the breakthrough into a new world of television images. Now the IFA 2006 is presenting HDTV and high definition media in Europe as a commercially available platform with a rapidly increasing range of media and terminals. (more…)
